duces you to more than two centuries of
naval history as seen through the eyes of 
the sailor in and around the great harbor
of Hampton Roads.  The Battleship 
Wisconsin is located adjacent to Nauticus
and is open for outer deck tours.  There is
no charge to visit Nauticus or Battleship

Contemporary Art Center of Virginia
The Contemporary Art Center of 
Virginia is a nonprofit, noncollecting
institution founded in 1952 to foster
awareness, exploration and under-
standing of the significance or our 
time.  Regularly changing exhibitions

Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum
The Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum,
located in the historic de Witt Cottage on
the oceanfront, displays art and artifacts
documenting migrating wildfowl that pass
through eastern Virginia.  Exhibits of wild-
fowl and shorebird carvings trace the 
evolution of this American art form from 
the simple traditional decoys to the 
contemporary lifelike carvings.

Mariner's Museum

Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe
Fort Monroe was built between 1819 and 1834, but the history of fortifications on the site goes back much further.  As early as 1608, Captain John Smith recognized the importance of building a fort at Point Comfort, as the English colonists called this land.  Come visit Fort Monroe and the Casemate Museum.

Hermitage Foundation

Old Coast Guard Station
The Old Coast Guard Station is located at 24th Street & Boardwalk.  The museum's interactive exhibit, allows visitors the same view of the ocean and beach that the Surfmen had from the tower.  A touch screen computer system, video monitor and video camera mounted on the Station's tower let visitors identify the many vessels that visit the port of Hampton Roads.

Tugboat Museum
A familiar sight in Norfolk's harbor for more than half a century, the Tug Huntington has been restored to her former glory.  Explore the engine room for a view of her massive power plant.  Catch a glimpse of tugboat life as you visit the crew's quarters, galley and saloon.  Then make your way topside to the captain's quarters.
