Francis Land House
The Francis Land House Historic Site and 
Gardens is a seven acre site that features
a 200-year-old plantation home, gardens,

Moses Myers House
One of Norfolk's first Jewish residents
built the elegant Federal Period home 
in 1792.  70 percent of the current col-
lection of furnishings was acquired by 
the first generation of Myers and ref-lects the French influences prevalent
during the period.  The collection also
boasts artwork by Gilbert Stuart, Tho-
mas Sully, John Wesley Jarvis and 
many other noted artists.

Lynnhaven House
Francis Thelaball II built this home in 1725.  This home happens to be one of the best-preserved 18th-century buildings in the United States.  It still rests near the waters of the Lynnhaven River and the Chesapeake Bay.  Tours of the house and the grounds are offered.  757-460-1688

Virginia Legends Walk
The Virginia Legends Walk is easily accessible to Virginia Beach's 3 million annual oceanfront visitors.  It occupies city-donated property right in the middle of the resort area.  It is open to the public at no charge. 

 

        

 

Norwegian Lady
A gift to Virginia Beach from Moss, Norway, this bronze figurehead gazes out to sea, commemorating the tragic wreck of the Norwegian bark, "Dictator."  Located at 25th Street and Atlantic Avenue.



The Christian Broadcasting Network
Founded in 1960, CBN was the first Christian television network established in the United States.  Today CBN is one of the the world's largest television ministries and produces programming seen in 200 nations and heard in 70 languages.

Tidewater Veterans Memorial
The Tidewater Veterans Memorial was created in an unusual manner.  The memorial committee decided to involve the youth of the community in the project's creative design and concept phase.  From concept to reality, the memorial is now part of the great legacy of service rendered by the military of this area.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
The Bridge-Tunnel is a four-lane 20-mile-long vehicular toll crossing of the lower Bay.  The Bridge-Tunnel carries US 13 and provides the only direct link between Virginia's Eastern Shore and south Hampton Roads, Virginia.  The manmade islands, each approximately 5.25 acres in size, are located at each end of the two tunnels.  There are also high level bridges over two other navigation channels on the bridge.  

 

 

 

Edgar Cayce Visitors Center
In 1931, the remarkable psychic, Edgar Cayce, founded the World Headquarters for the Association of Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.).  Today, the Visitors Center maintains one of the largest metaphysical libraries in the United States, and makes all of Cayce's reading available to the public.

Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum
The museum is dedicated to the woldfowl of the Atlantic Flyway and preserving the heritage that is unique to Eastern Virginia.  It is housed in the historic deWitt Cottage, the only remaining turn-of-the-century seaside cottage.

Chesapeake Bay Center
Get back to nature at this environmentally-focused, interactive visitor information center in First Landing State Park.  The Center showcases a historical exhibition of the first landing of settlers in 1607, aquariums, environmental exhibits, classroom space, a wet lab and touch tank developed by the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center.
